Wheeler Panel & Paint – Kaiwaka Towing Ltd

James Wheeler

There isn’t much James Wheeler doesn’t know about towing, panelbeating and spray painting.

With 37 years of experience under his belt, he understands the stress and inconvenience that breakdowns and accidents can cause.

“That’s why the customer always has to come first,” he says.

“We walk into situations all the time where people are often very distressed, so you need to be prepared for this and have the right approach.

“No-one gets left at the side of the road when I’m at a crash or breakdown, and this means people know they can trust us and can have peace of mind that their vehicle is in good hands.”

Based on the Oneriri Peninsula, James feels privileged that his experience and reputation mean he can work in such a beautiful location.

James’ towing and panelbeating business caters to a wide range of vehicles, from motorbikes and small cars to SUVs and larger commercial vehicles.

“We can also do water recoveries, if necessary.”

James says prompt service and structural integrity in vehicle repair and refinishing, as well as a commitment to professionalism, quality and customer service are the hallmarks of the business.

“We do a lot of warrant of fitness rust work for local garages, and light to medium work for all the major insurance companies.

“We take pride in taking a meticulous approach, ensuring that all repairs are done with precision.

“I started in towing when I was 18, which led to a panelbeating apprenticeship, followed by a spray painting apprenticeship. I’ve been in these three trades my whole working life and still love what I do, so I guess I must be doing something right,” he jokes.

James says anyone involved in an incident, who feels confused or unsure of what steps to take, is welcome to call him.

“After attending hundreds of roadside callouts, I have the experience to help people navigate these events.”
