Nobody can say they are the same person after a massage session. That is the promise behind TT Traditional Thai Massage & Aromatherapy, which has recently opened at 62A Moir Street in Mangawhai, bringing with it more than a decade of experience.
The business is owned by Dew Rakthong, who arrived in New Zealand 25 years ago and has been immersed in the massage industry since 2008. Her journey began in Orewa, where she opened her first clinic, followed by a second location in Warkworth, which continues to operate successfully. After 10 years serving the Warkworth community, Dew decided it was time for a new chapter.
“A lot of people told me about a wonderful place called Mangawhai,” she said. “After looking around, I finally opened here at the end of December. The village is amazing and beautiful, and we have been fully booked since the first day. In the other stores, we usually had to wait a while before getting customers.”
The Mangawhai clinic is run by Dew alongside her employee, Anna, and is supported by close family members. Dew is partnered with her sister and cousin, describing the venture as very much a family business built on trust and shared experience.
“To be honest, everything is going better than I expected,” she said with a laugh. “We’ve had people from everywhere, even overseas, like Germany and France”.
With a focus on traditional Thai massage techniques and aromatherapy, TT Traditional Thai Massage & Aromatherapy is already making its mark in Mangawhai, offering residents and visitors a place to relax, recharge and leave feeling renewed.
