Kaipara District Council is accepting nominations for its annual Citizen Awards. The awards recognise individuals who have contributed substantial service to the district, usually voluntarily or beyond normal employment, and nominees should be a Kaipara resident. Applications are assessed by a committee of three councillors, who will evaluate the nominees on their personal leadership, inspiration, sacrifice or devotion to a cause. Last year, the inaugural Honorary Mayoral Award was presented posthumously to Mangawhai’s Jim Wintle. Nominations close on April 30 at 4.30pm.
