Modern professionals increasingly value the freedom to work where they are most productive, and the mobility of today’s workforce means the office is no longer tied to a single location. With this shift in mind, a new shared workspace has opened in Mangawhai.
Assemble, located at 8/4 Northbase Drive, has been designed to give remote workers, freelancers and hybrid employees a flexible base that supports both focused work and meaningful collaboration.
Owner Andrew Trembath says the new space provides an opportunity for locals to stay connected and work in a professional environment without needing to commute to Auckland or Whangārei.
“It also presents a great opportunity for anyone working from home to spend time in a professional environment without the usual distractions,” he said.
Andrew has spent the past decade working in the property and construction industry, and is also involved with Northern Project Services. He holds a degree in construction management and, together with his wife, launched their own energy drink brand, Shnack Protein Shakes.
He says changing attitudes toward work are driving greater interest in flexible spaces like Assemble.
“A lot of companies are thinking more about their employees’ wellbeing,” he said.
“Flexible work arrangements give employees greater control over when and where they work, helping them balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments. This flexibility can reduce stress, improve job satisfaction and support overall wellbeing. As a result, employees are often more focused, productive and engaged in their work.”
The Assemble workspace offers 23 desks spread across three areas, along with a boardroom on site and access to a larger boardroom just down the road. All areas are fully furnished, providing a ready-to-use environment for individuals and teams looking for a professional place to work.
