Parents and grandparents looking to connect, share experiences, and enjoy coffee and biscuits are invited to join the Parent to Parent Northland support group in Mangawhai, run in partnership with Te Whai Community Trust. Te Tai Tokerau Northland regional coordinator Don Martin says the group is a positive space where friendships grow and attendees can connect with others who understand similar experiences. “The groups are small – we average between six and 10 people attending,” Martin says. “The energy of the group is great, and there is lots of laughter.” The group meets every fourth Friday of the month. Parent to Parent is a nationwide not-for-profit organisation formed in 1983 to support the families of babies, children, teens and adults with any type of disability, neurodiversity or health impairment. The next session will be on Friday March 27, from 10am to midday. Info: donm@parent2parent.org.nz or 027 808 3942.
