Industrial growth in Wellsford

Two lots in a new 10-lot light industrial subdivision in Centennial Park Road Wellsford have been sold.

The Northlink Industrial Park has been developed by the Foundry Group and is designed to accommodate a range of industrial activities, including warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, storage and trade services.

The development is expected to attract new businesses to the town while creating more employment opportunities for residents.

Lot sizes range from 2600sqm to 10,000sqm, and are on the market starting at $1.1 million.

Bayleys senior broker Alex Perigo said the industrial park, together with the proposed new motorway, could position Wellsford as a key business hub, improving connectivity between Auckland and Northland.

“Our focus is on seeing the remaining sites developed and occupied by local and regional businesses,” Perigo said.

“We’re seeing interest from warehousing, logistics, manufacturing and trade-based businesses. Interest has come from both Auckland and Northland, as well as businesses already operating within the wider Rodney district.”

Perigo says the subdivision is finished and no further stages are planned. The next step is for construction to start.

He said the park was within an existing industrial area so was well equipped to accommodate growth.

“However, continued investment in transport infrastructure will be important, particularly projects that improve freight efficiency and regional connectivity,” he said.

“The development offers Wellsford the opportunity to become an attractive industrial alternative just 50 minutes from Auckland, at a time when opportunities to secure quality industrial land are becoming increasingly difficult to find in larger urban centres.”
