Caffè Della Costa is a new café on the Coast that offers not only a hot cup of coffee but a cosy environment for all to enjoy. Located in Ōrewa Sands, resort-style living for 55 plus, in north Ōrewa, it aims to welcome those looking for a family-friendly place to eat and relax.
Owners and managers Nicole and Dave Charles recall when the Ōrewa Sands was just breaking ground. Eight years later, in April 2025, she felt drawn back when a job opportunity came up. Caffè Della Costa was the perfect next step to continue her career in hospitality, and she embraced the challenge with a smile.
“We treat all our customers like they were our own parents, cousins, or grandparents,” Nicole says.
Caffè Della Costa translates to “Coffee of the Coast.” The café is proud to not only serve the Ōrewa community but support it, proudly pouring Matakana Coffee, the only café in Ōrewa to do so. The menu features a range of delicious breakfasts, seafood, pizzas, and snacks from the impressive commercial kitchen, alongside well-brewed coffee and warm welcomes from their superstar barista Rachael.
Nicole brings a wealth of hospitality experience, with 15 years as a cake maker and even more as a busy mum. She understands the value of fresh, quality ingredients and in house-made food, and she’s proud to offer that same standard to customers who pop in for a bite.
Caffè Della Costa is open Monday to Friday, 8am until 3pm and will be opening on Saturdays by the end of the month.
