Dollar Deals Direct has opened at The Grange in Warkworth with a simple aim – helping locals save money on everyday household items as the cost of living continues to climb.

Owner Hassan Zaheer was born in Pakistan and recently relocated to NZ with his family, having lived in Australia for nearly 30 years where he ran similar retail businesses, so he brings plenty of experience to the store.

He’s also just bought REMAX Realty Group Warkworth on Neville Street.

Zaheer said Dollar Deals Direct offered an extensive range including kitchen utensils, storage containers, baskets, bathroom goods, laundry items, cleaning supplies, personal care items, arts and crafts, beauty accessories and even some unique finds.

All at bargain prices.

Products are priced competitively because Zaheer imports in bulk – seven shipping containers and 160 pallets of products – and passes those savings directly on to shoppers.

“Many customers are looking for more affordable places to shop, particularly for well-known brands. We stock Revlon, Tresemme, Dettol, Huggies, Finish, Dove, Palmolive and much more.”

He said the decision to open in Warkworth was driven by the town’s rapid growth, and he’d considered relocating here with his family before settling in Gulf Harbour.

“People moving into new homes often need to buy a large number of practical items at once, and our store is designed to meet that need. We also remove the cost of having to travel to larger centres to shop.”

Zaheer added that early feedback on the store had been very positive, with many locals excited about a genuine, budget-friendly shopping experience that would benefit the community.

“We’re also open seven days a week,” he said.
