Fur Babies Pet Food Store

The arrival of Fur Babies Pet Food Store has given Snells Beach residents the opportunity to have the area’s only dedicated pet shop on their doorstep.

The combination of Dionne McMullan’s experience in dog grooming, David Bellis’ love for animals and an available empty shop was the perfect recipe for the new business.

The pair met through David’s wife, Deb, and quickly discovered they shared a passion for animals.

“I met Deb because our children went to school together, and when the opportunity came up, she suggested opening the store,” Dionne said. “My life has always been connected with animals, and I currently have two dogs.”

For David, his connection with animals came later in life. Although he had always wanted a dog growing up, it was not until adulthood that he had the opportunity to get one. He now has four dogs and two cats at home.

“I think I have a special bond with animals,” David said. “Nowadays, I can’t imagine my life without pets. For us, a home isn’t a home without a dog.”

Fur Babies Pet Food Store offers a wide range of products and remedies, mainly made in New Zealand. The treats and remedies are natural, with an emphasis on avoiding chemicals and other artificial ingredients. Even the flea treatments are naturally sourced.

With a strong focus on customer service, Dionne and David are happy to help each customer find the best options to care for their pets.
