Ōrewa’s Maygrove Village earned top honours in the recent Best Awards for Retirement Villages and Aged Care facilities, helping its parent organisation, Hopper Living, to an impressive eight accolades recognising excellence in retirement and aged care across the country.
Hopper Living took home the Multi-Village Excellence Award, with each of its four villages and its hospital receiving recognition.
Maygrove Village stood out as the only facility in New Zealand to be a finalist for 10 consecutive years. It received the Enduring Excellence Award, the Outstanding and Responsive Management Award, and was a Finalist for Best Medium/Large Retirement or Lifestyle Village – North Island.
Hopper Living general manager Ruth Scandrett says the results reflect the care and professionalism of staff across the group.
“This recognition reflects the passion, professionalism, and care our teams bring to residents and families every day,” Scandrett says.
“These awards are based on real experiences and reviews, making them incredibly meaningful to us.”
Seniors New Zealand general manager Tania Ryan says the awards are a direct reflection of residents’ lived experiences, with nearly 5000 reviews received across 273 facilities.
“These awards aren’t decided in boardrooms – they recognise the facilities that people truly love and trust.”
The Hopper Living network includes Maygrove Village and Maygrove Care in Ōrewa, Country Club Huapai, The Anchorage, and The Moorings in Whitianga.
