Coasties now have a one-stop shop for anything and everything designed to carry loads on cars, utes and 4x4s, with the opening of a new branch of Roof Rack Centre in Stanmore Bay.
The Karepiro Drive store is the ninth branch of Roof Rack Centre opened in the North Island by owner Pete Townend, who lives at Okura, and they also sell online.
The new store sells absolutely anything to do with all types of vehicle rack and storage, from bike racks and roof boxes to awnings and accessories. Whether it’s snowboards, skis and surfboards for sports fans or plumbing pipes, timber and ladders for tradies, Roof Rack Centre can provide the right carrying solution for every kind of situation and vehicle, Pete says.
“Our knowledge has been accumulated over more than 20 years of carrying awkward loads such as multiple kayaks, canoes, bikes and others,” he says. “We’re specialists in finding the easiest option for loading your roof rack, using a wide variety of accessories.
“Every load is different, so we are always adaptable to come up with the safest system for the job.”
Roof Rack Centre stocks three leading brands – Yakima, Rhino-Rack and Thule – and staff are more than happy to offer expert advice and provide a professional fitting service.
“We can fit anything to the car for you,” store manager James Fitness says. “And we’re happy to travel to fit, as well – we’ll come to you. So, for example, if tradies are busy on site, we can come to fit it while they work.”
