Simplifying the complexities of obtaining planning and resource consents is all in a day’s work for expert planners Stephen Havill and Daniel Shaw of SFH Consultants. Their aim is to take the pain out of planning and provide clients with a straightforward road map to resource consent success.
“Planning can be complex and full of jargon. People generally don’t know what they can and can’t do. We try to make it simple and use plain language, so clients know what we’re talking about and can feel fully informed,” Daniel says.
SFH provides a range of town planning and resource management services, including property reviews for development opportunities, and resource consent applications including for rural, residential, industrial and commercial developments and subdivisions. Residential applications often relate to extensions of existing houses, additional units or minor dwellings and terraced houses, too.
“We’re a bit like a GP is for medicine – we look at absolutely everything to do with planning and resource consents,” Daniel says. “We’re a small company of three, so we work face-to-face with clients and we like to think we’re pretty affordable.”
To that end, SFH offers a First Hour Free service to help clients understand the requirements of their situation.
SFH Consultants was founded by Stephen Havill in 1987, with director Daniel Law joining him in 2010. After several years based in the heart of the Silverdale industrial area, the team is moving to a more central and obvious location this month, in the former Denham Bramwell offices at Hilltop on Hibiscus Coast Highway.
