Vigeo director Heidi Parlane knows how beneficial changing your outlook can be.
That’s why as a leadership coach and team coach for senior business professionals and executives, she encourages her clients to reshape their stories, especially narratives that are no longer useful.
Heidi, who recently changed her own outlook after moving with her family to their new home in Snells Beach with a view across Kawau Bay, says you don’t solve problems with the same thinking.
“As a coach I love helping people get their peripheral vision back and getting them to see things through a slightly different lens,” she says.
With over 20 years of senior management experience, Heidi knows how to get the best out of her clients, who are often in executive leadership roles.
“I help them unlock their potential and gain confidence. We set goals together and look at ways to overcome challenges.
“My coaching helps individuals develop resilience, which is really important, because change in life is constant.”
When she coaches teams, Heidi says she first focuses on building trust.
“Trust is the key to working collaboratively. You can’t be creative and deal with complex issues if there isn’t trust in the room. Establishing trust really helps teams to fire.”
And are your coaching skills transferable to your role as a parent?
Oh yeah. When they get to their teenage years, to be honest, you can’t really do anything other than coach, because if you try and tell them what to do, it doesn’t work.”
