Profile
SBRRA promotes, protects and focuses Local Government attention on the interests of the Snells Beach community. We propose, plan, make formal submissions and carry out projects which maintain and expand our amenities; and protect the local environment.
We have recently worked on the following:
Maintaining the liquor ban.
Restoration of the shoreline to protect the Ercegs Walkway
Expanding Sunrise playground adding new swings, Flying Fox, basket swing, rotating climbing net, and a slide
Installing swings at Sunburst playground
Obtaining interim improvements at the Hill St junction Warkworth
Auckland Unitary and 10 year Auckland budget Plans
Te Whau Esplanade and Snells Beach to Warkworth walkways
Rodney Local Board Plan
Essential reconstruction of the Mahurangi East Road between Governor Gray and Arabella, along with extending the footpath there
And we are working on:
Proper attention to fix the condition of Sandspit Roads roller coaster features.
Fundraising for the completion of the Sunrise playground with further new items.
Replacing old tables on the beachfront.
Supporting the construction of the Matakana Link Road.
Getting water quality monitoring in Kawau Bay.
Ensuring the appropriate use of the car parks, especially by campervans.
There has been a large increase in membership of the SBRRA to 135 households which has added weight to the submissions that the SBRRA has made to the Rodney Local Board, Auckland Council and Auckland Transport.
We urge you to join our Association, come along to our meetings and help make Snells Beach an even better place to live.
