After Manhattan, Cohen takes Warkworth

New Zealand band Imperfect Offering will present the songs and poetry of Leonard Cohen at Warkworth Town Hall on Saturday, November 14.

The concert is part of a North Island tour marking 10 years since the death of the Canadian singer-songwriter. It will feature some of Cohen’s best-known songs, including Suzanne, First We Take Manhattan and Hallelujah, among others.

Led by vocalist Peter McMillan, the nine-piece band features three vocalists, violin and balalaika, creating a rich full-band sound.

“Imperfect Offering’s first major appearance in Auckland coincidentally was the week Cohen passed away,” McMillan said.

“For the past 10 years, the band has toured Aotearoa, honouring one of the most influential songwriters of our time.” General admission is $50, and tickets are available at tinyurl.com/mrxsdhtn.
