Catch the Light at council office

Lisa Wintles’s Tinopai Funnel is a quiet tribute to the Kaipara Harbour and those working to protect its waterways, particularly through the Kaipara Moana Remediation project.

From a shimmering sea to rolling hills and peaceful suburbs, the Kaipara District Council office in Mangawhai is once again home to a stunning showcase of local creativity.

Celebrating the unique vision and talent of four remarkable artists – Daphne Davies, Lisa Wintle, Jean Fountain and Jan Fisher – the 15th mini exhibition runs until July 23.

Southern Hills by Jean Fountain explores texture, technique and the emotional landscape.

Pictured above from left: Into the Night by Jan Fisher reflects her strong grasp of colour theory, form and composition, developed through years of creative expression and recent study with Mangawhai’s talented artistic community; Daphne Davies’ Shooting Stars reflects the strength and fragility of the natural world, a theme that has inspired Daphne since her early days studying art in Cape Town.

Each artwork on display tells a story of personal journey, connection to place and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments. With a shared passion for their subjects and years of experience, these artists present distinctive, thoughtful works that speak directly to the viewer.

Visitors are encouraged to reach out to the artists directly for enquiries or commissions. Contact details are available on-site at the Kaipara District Council office, The Hub, Molesworth Drive, Mangawhai. Opening hours, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3pm.
