The sun shone for Santa and all the donkeys at Highfield Garden Reserve in Algies Bay on Saturday, December 6, when the annual festive family fun day was held.

After a parade of suitably decorated donkeys, visitors enjoyed free rides, games, races, stalls, a barbecue and, of course, a visit from the man in red.

Author Jenny Roberts, resplendent in fluffy donkey ears, was present signing and selling copies of her new book, Donkey Tails, which features four stories inspired by real events at Highfield, with veteran donkey carer Peter Caccia-Birch and Truffle on the cover.
