Hop to it for Easter in Matakana

The Easter Bunny will be stopping off in Matakana for sure this weekend, with a leisurely visit to the Village Farmers’ Market on Saturday morning.

He’ll be touring the stalls and surrounds with a basket full of free chocolate treats for hundreds of lucky visitors, while up and coming Auckland pop singer Chris Bates will be bringing some laid-back vibes to entertain the holiday weekend crowds.

The market will also be the scene for all sorts of family fun on Easter Monday, April 21, when there will be face painting for the kids, food stalls, more live music, and children’s entertainment by the river. The fun starts at 11am and will run to 3pm.

Meanwhile, Matakana Cinemas is running an Easter screening of Peter Rabbit 2 at 1.40pm on the same day, with all tickets at the special price of $10. In addition, everyone who sees the movie will go into a draw to win a family cinema pass and a snacks bundle of two large popcorn and four ice creams.
