A live rock concert just for kids is being held at Leigh Sawmill Cafe on Monday, December 29 at 4.30pm.
Party covers band The Monroes are bringing what they say will be a high-energy experience packed full of favourite hits such as Golden by Kpop Demon Hunters, Shake It Off by Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk.
Vocalist Nikki Monroe says while the Sonic Boom show is aimed at tots to tweens, it will have all the energy and production values of an adult gig.
“Why should the grown-ups have all the fun?” she says. “Sonic Boom brings the excitement of a real concert to young audiences, with epic singalongs, wild dance moments and non-stop fun.”
She says the show will be a full-scale, professional live band performance, featuring flashy guitar solos, bold costumes and brimming with rock star energy.
“Sonic Boom is the ultimate summer holiday experience for young music lovers – fun, family-friendly and full of energy from start to finish. Get ready to dance, sing and rock out like never before!”
The band includes10-year-old drummer Indy Monroe, who has performed at major venues and events including Tōtara St, Ōmokoroa Christmas in the Park, Balloons Over Waikato and the Americana Festival.
“Indy brings serious talent, big personality and the kind of star power that will leave young audiences inspired,” Nikki adds.
Other hits on the Sawmill Sonic Boom playlist include Pharrell Williams’ Happy, YMCA, We Will Rock You by Queen, Katy Perry’s Firework and Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan.
