Brendon Thomas and The Vibes, a rock band that gained many fans while competing in X Factor NZ (where they came third), will perform in Manly Park this summer.

The afternoon concert, which takes place on Sunday, February 4, from 3pm to 6pm, is part of Auckland Council’s free summer Music in Parks series.

Supporting The Vibes are The Nukes and Mhara Marimba.

The Nukes are known for their original songs and ukulele and Mhara Marimba is an Afro Zimbabwean marimba dance band – some songs in its repertoire are hundreds of years old.

Wonder Woman in Orewa

In what may be a first for this location, an outdoor movie will be screened in Centreway Reserve (on the corner of Centreway and Riverside Roads) Orewa as part of Auckland Council’s free Movies in Parks initiative. Wonder Woman will screen on Saturday, February 3. There will be pre-movie entertainment from 6.30pm with the movie on from 8.35pm.
