Warkworth Theatre is set to take audiences on a whirlwind global adventure at Warkworth Town Hall with its much-anticipated production of Around the World in 80 Days, which runs from November 7 to 15.
The show is a celebration of classic storytelling, but with a modern twist and promises fast-paced fun for the audience. Dave Morgan will take the lead role of Phileas Fogg, with Amelia Meineke playing Passepartout.
Director Richard Hutchinson says the production has been challenging but rewarding.
“It’s been great to work with the cast to bring a more physical theatre production to Warkworth,” he says.
“Working through all the movements and action has been a real challenge for everyone involved and we are looking forward to bringing the story to the stage in November.”
The production packs in more than 50 unforgettable characters and follows “the fabulously wealthy Victorian gentleman” Phileas Fogg after he wagers his life’s fortune that he can circumnavigate the globe in just 80 days.
Warkworth Theatre thanked Hutchinson, as well as Harcourts, for their ongoing support and generosity.
For each property listed and sold through Hutchinson, he is donating $1000 to Warkworth Theatre. Shows every day at 7pm apart from November 9. Matinees on November 9 and 15.
Tickets are $2 to $25. Available via Trybooking (up to three hours prior to each performance) or from the Mahurangi Matters office in Neville Street.
