Renowned pianist visits Warkworth

Jason Bae’s concert in Warkworth is an opportunity to see a NZ pianist who is impressing audiences worldwide.


Brilliant young New Zealand pianist Jason Bae will perform at the Mahurangi College hall, in Warkworth, on Thursday October 1.

The concert is part of the Chamber Music New Zealand Encompass Series Tour and is presented by Warkworth Music.

Jason has recently completed his Masters of Arts in piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London, studying with Christopher Elton and Joanna MacGregor.

He has a long list of prizes and awards. He was the 2008 winner of the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York, which included a performance at the Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall, and was the NZ Young Performer of the Year in the same year.

He was the first New Zealander to become the Young Steinway Artist and in 2013, he became the youngest Chief Conductor of God’s Vision Church Choir in London.

Last year, his performances included his recital debut at the Steinway Hall in London, the Bloomsbury Festival in London and NZ Wallace Piano Festival.

The Warkworth concert programme will include works by Chopin, Liszt and Prokofiev.

The concert starts at 7pm and tickets are available at the door; adults $30, students free.
