Rocky Horror creator Richard O’Brien to be honoured with star

Richard O’Brien, creator of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Show, will be honoured with a star on the New Zealand Walk of Fame on Ōrewa Boulevard on Saturday, August 8.

The star unveiling takes place at 4pm, followed by an after-party at Hibiscus Coast RSA, 43A Vipond Road, Stanmore Bay, from 6pm.

The event is a tribute to one of New Zealand’s best-known creative talents, whose work on The Rocky Horror Show and its film adaptation, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has inspired generations of fans around the world. Family, friends, fans and the wider community are invited to attend the unveiling.

Fans are welcome to come dressed in character.

The after-party continues at the Hibiscus Coast RSA, where fans and supporters can share stories, memories and music.
