Garden gains for Puhoi groups

An open day at a Puhoi garden on Saturday, February 15 raised $800 for the Puhoi Volunteer Fire Brigade and Slow Water Sea Scouts.

This was the second year that Liz McLaren invited locals and visitors to explore her 10-hectare riverside property in Ahuroa Road, and she says the fundraiser may become an annual event.

“Everyone seems to think that would be a great idea, with lots of people saying they’ll be back next year,” she said. “We probably will, but we’ll see as next year rolls around.”
