Gulf grants for Leigh researchers

Two researchers based at the Leigh Marine Laboratory have been awarded special grants to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park.

Hayley Nessia and Gemma Cunnington each received $5000 for their respective work on native seahorses and seafloor habitat monitoring.

Nessia, who is a member of the Leigh Volunteer Fire Brigade, and Cunnington were also acknowledged at the Hauraki Gulf Forum meeting on August 25.
