Landscaping contractor Green by Nature proved it was generous by nature as well recently, when staff member Pati Maligi, right, presented Kauri Bushmen’s Association president Ray Jensen with a much-needed preloved mower.
Jensen, who has been a volunteer at Warkworth’s Parry Kauri Park for more than 50 years, put out a plea for someone to donate an unwanted mower in June (MM, Jun 23), as the group’s model was on its last legs.
Maligi, part of the team contracted by Auckland Council, had just the thing going spare and presented it to Jensen last month.
“It’s great, the lawn looks like a bowling green now,” Jensen said. He also thanked Rhodes for Roads for recently transporting a picnic table to the park, saving the volunteer group $1200.
