New digs for Restore Rodney East

Equipment that was previously stored outdoors will now be able to be kept inside.

Restore Rodney East has a new home.

The group, which is involved in more than 45 local environmental projects, has moved from Mason Containers on Sanderson Road Warkworth to Hamatana Road in Snells Beach.

The opportunity came through Watercare, which offered the site to Restore Rodney East at a reduced cost.

Chair Tim Armitage says the new facility, a 400 sqm shed, will make it more convenient to store tools and other infrastructure.

“The whole idea is to have this shed set up as a tool library,” Tim says.

“We also bought a portacom, and the shed is so big that we can put the portacom inside it. So, in three years, we’ll have the freedom to move the portacom wherever we need to go next.

“We are really grateful to Watercare for giving us such a large space. Their contribution is helping enable greater connection, resource sharing and long-term community environmental action.”

Tim says other groups are welcome to borrow tools from the new facility.
