Other bollard business

Next up – bollards are to go along Moana Reserve, Ōrewa, to prevent people driving onto the reserve and parking. Council staff told the local board that parking on this reserve has become a serious problem over summer. Methods of restricting access have been investigated and the local board agreed that bollards were needed. Council staff hope to install bollards along the yellow and red lines (see map). This will leave access for public events, but not for parking. However, due to underground services, Council will need to obtain permission from Watercare in order to proceed. • Bollards have been installed along Hatfields Beach Reserve – the work was completed in January. These bollards were requested by the community and are to prevent vehicles driving onto the reserve and staying overnight. ‘No Overnight Camping’ signs were also put in place.
