Albany and Warkworth Toyota have joined forces with Takatu Landcare and Mangawhai Honey for their annual native tree planting, which begins at Port Albert Domain on September 19, from 8am
Around 15 to 20 volunteers are expected to help plant more than 1000 trees in the area.
Louis from Mangawhai Honey carefully sources the trees from a local orchard ensuring they are well-suited to the surrounding environment.
Organisers say the day is about more than just planting trees.
“It’s about celebrating nature, giving back to the community and ensuring a sustainable future,” they said.
The project is part of Albany and Warkworth Toyota’s long-term commitment to the environment, where one native tree is planted for every new vehicle sold.
Over the years the initiative has led to thousands of trees being established in the region.
