Toll puts Penlink back in political arena

Former Transport Minister Michael Wood’s decision to toll the O Mahurangi Penlink road, made earlier this year, has come under fire following the public release of contrary advice he received from his own ministry. In light of this, local Councillor John Watson, and the National Party transport spokesperson Simeon Brown, are investigating whether or not the decision can be reversed.
