A New Zealand-based developer has purchased Longburn Farm, at 522 Wainui Road.
Bayleys real estate agent Graeme Perigo confirmed the sale, adding that the sale price was currently confidential.
The 191ha property has been a family run farm for the past 50 years. It is primarily zoned rural production, but 62ha has a future urban zoning.
When the property was being marketed, Perigo expected the 12 titles on the property to be sold as one lot, and land banked or developed.
Periogo said there had been international, as well as national, interest and the purchaser intended to develop the land for housing.
The 191ha site is almost two-thirds the size of Milldale’s 300ha. When completed, Milldale will have 4500 homes, a small retail centre, larger town centre (like the Silverdale Centre), two early learning centres and two schools.
