Residents, construction workers and Kaipara District Council representatives celebrated the end of a 450 metre seal extension on Coal Hill Road, south Mangawhai, last week. The project cost around $65,500 with half of that cost funded by residents. This follows the recent sealing of Blackswamp Road, which was community-led and fully funded by the community. KDC roading maintenance contractor Downer undertook both seal extensions. Pictured, on the newly-sealed road are Kaipara District Council representatives including Mayor Jonathan Larsen, roading staff, Downer representatives and Coal Hill Road residents.
