The Anchorage Village at Marsden Cove has been named Best Small Retirement Village in the North Island at this year’s NZ’s Best Retirement Village Awards.
The win follows the village’s finalist placing last year and is one of several awards received by its operator, Hopper Living.
The family-owned company won the Multi Village Excellence Award for the second consecutive year, with all four of its villages named winners or finalists.
The awards are based on feedback from residents and their families, with more than 5500 reviews contributing to this year’s results.
Hopper Living general manager Ruth Scandrett welcomed the recognition.
“What means the most to me is that this comes from our residents and their families. They know what life in our villages is really like. Their feedback tells us we’re doing things well, and it also helps us understand where we can do better.”
Scandrett thanked residents, families and staff for their contributions.
Maygrove Village in Orewa won the North Island’s medium/large village category, while Country Club Huapai and The Moorings Village in Whitianga were finalists.
