Mahurangi East Tennis Club has received a $1455 grant from the NZ Charitable Trust to purchase an outdoor cabinet for its automated external defibrillator (AED).
The cabinet, which is expected to arrive later this month, will be installed in a publicly accessible location at the club for use by both club members and the Snells Beach community.
Prior to the recent refurbishment of the clubrooms, the defibrillator was kept locked inside the building, making it difficult to access in an emergency.
Committee member Edward van Boheemen prepared and submitted the funding application and is overseeing the delivery and installation of the cabinet.
