As the number of places dog owners can walk their pooches declines, one enterprising Mangawhai resident has come up with a solution.
The K9 Konceptz Mangawhai offers a variety of activities for anyone looking to spend quality time with their pets.
The park is managed by Sharan and George McNaughton.
“This is a safe space for dogs to play and learn,” Sharan says. “For $5, you get exclusive use for a 30-minute session between 10am to 5pm. It’s for private use, not a public space where everyone brings their dogs.”
The park features a range of activities, including a rope swing, ball pit, water pit, tyre climb, seesaw, weave poles and tunnels. It has been thoughtfully designed with tree cover to provide shade during hot summer days, making it an alternative when it’s too warm to head to the beach.
It’s also an option during times when dogs are restricted from public areas.
All dogs must be fully vaccinated, and proof of vaccination is required on or before the first visit.
