Free circus skills workshops

There’s a chance for students to learn circus skills for free this week, thanks to funding from Rodney Local Board.

The Circus Kumarani circus holiday programme is running two separate two-day workshops at Wellsford Community Centre – the first on Tuesday, September 30 and Wednesday, October 1, and the second on Thursday and Friday, October 2 and 3.

Each workshop session runs from 10am to 2pm, and are suitable for children aged eight to 13.

The Dargaville-based Circus Kumarani runs a wide range of classes and community events teaching fun skills that also boost kids’ confidence and coordination.

Advance booking is required and anyone taking part should bring lunch, water and wear clothing that is easy to move in.
