Anyone having a spring clean and declutter could earn some cash next month, when Snells Beach Kindy holds its annual Garage Sale at Mahurangi East Community Centre.
Tables can be booked for $20 each, which organisers say make them ideal for anyone wanting to sell secondhand items or hand-made or crafted goods.
As well as stalls, there will be coffee and food available at the sale, which runs from noon to 3pm on Saturday, October 11.
The event is being organised by the kindy’s Parent Whanau Group in conjunction with its teachers to buy resources and fund activities “to support and enrich children’s learning”.
Group member Jen Saunders says such money raising events are vital, as the kindy is not-for-profit and has limited funding.
“This year, our Garage Sale fundraising will help cover the cost of materials and construction of a jetty, stepping posts and garden surrounding our playground boat, so it can be enjoyed year-round, as well as hopefully an end-of-year entertainment treat,” she says.
The group thanked Harcourts North Rodney’s Sarah Taylor and Kersna Claxton for helping with sponsorship.
