The nine kilometre Waipū Walk and Cycleway is a step closer to being finished with a start being made on the final link this month. Costing $1.45 million and funded by Whangārei District Council, the last 500 metres is expected to be finished in May. The new section will run along the eastern side of Cove Road, with about 300m of the western side widened and realigned to improve visibility and avoid impacting nearby homes.
