Ōrewa Lions Club donated $12,000 to help support the Hibiscus Youth Hub last week.
Club President Daryl Crosby said the funds were raised from the club’s Big Dig and calendar sales.
The club is also an ongoing supporter of the Hub, contributing to the building upkeep.
Youth Hub chair, Youth Aid Sergeant Jon Williams says general funding like this was a huge assistance to help keep the organisation running. “A lot of the funding we receive is tied to a particular purpose, so this will be a huge help, especially as lately we have been hit by the rising fuel costs, as well as increasing costs generally.”
