The Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority is expected to make decisions on the suspension or cancellation of the liquor licences held by three Matakana businesses this week. Police filed the applications following the death of a 16-year-old Mahurangi College student last July, who crashed his car on Leigh Road during an evening out with friends. Police allege that the friends bought alcohol at two licensed venues and a bottle store in Matakana without being asked for IDs.
