The annual Pink Ribbon Street Appeal will be held in the Mahurangi area this month.
Local coordinator Shona Pickup says “pink” volunteers will be rattling their buckets at supermarkets and The Warehouse in Warkworth on Friday, October 20 and at the Matakana Market on Saturday, October 21.
She says even people without cash will be able to donate by texting their donation. Last year, the Mahurangi community donated $6500, which was used to support people with breast cancer and fund education programmes.
Shona, who has been coordinator for the past 12 years, says this year will be her last and she is actively seeking a replacement.
