Arthritis NZ is inviting supporters to take the Arthritis Challenge to raise awareness about the condition and mark World Arthritis Day on October 12. There are more than 140 different forms of arthritis, each of which affects joints in different ways, and it affects more than 700,000 Kiwis. Most adults with arthritis in New Zealand have osteoarthritis. Other prevalent types are gout arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The challenge involves people without arthritis completing an everyday task that isn’t so simple for someone with arthritis.
