Ōrewa resident Jessica Emily has turned her own recovery journey into a global support platform, creating an online hub that now connects more than 500,000 people with trauma, addiction and mental health resources.
Jessica is the chief executive and founder of Recovery Revival™, an international directory and information platform designed to help people find support when they decide they want to change their lives.
She began by sharing her own recovery story on a personal blog about 12 years ago. Over time, as readers from around the world began sending their own stories, Jessica says she realised the conversation needed to grow beyond her voice.
“That’s what started Recovery Revival™,” she says. “It was the right timing. People were moving from just talking about having mental health to asking, ‘What can I do now to change my life? Then it just blossomed.’”
Today, she leads a team of seven people based in different countries who help manage and grow the hub. Beyond the digital platform, the Recovery Revival™ team work heavily in their communities. Jessica is deeply passionate about breaking cycles of trauma in all walks of life. She currently develops and implements trauma-informed programmes within prison systems across both the United States and New Zealand, driven by a mission to support those who have faced the deepest adversity. She believes that by helping people heal from their past experiences, they can find a path away from reoffending and toward a new way of life.
Recovery Revival™ operates worldwide, with a strong following in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. While most of its professional listings are currently UK and US based, Jessica says she is actively building the New Zealand directory and is seeking local professionals to join.
The site acts as a bridge between decision and action. It includes a directory of therapists and recovery specialists, along with books, apps and personal stories. Some resources are free, and all information is accessible online. Directories are localised by country.
Jessica describes Recovery Revival™ as a trusted middle link, helping people navigate what can often feel like an overwhelming search for help.
Her long term vision is simple. She wants anyone who reaches a turning point in their life to know exactly where to turn.
From her home in Ōrewa, Jessica has built a platform that reaches across borders, offering connection and practical support to people starting their recovery journey.
