An initiative called Community Conversations has been launched at Snells Beach, where residents are invited to contribute ideas, suggest improvements or simply share what they most enjoy about living in the community.
The Rodney Local Board is funding the project, which is being run by Community Think and Rodney Community, with the goal of identifying areas for improvement and fostering stronger connections between neighbours.
Community Think lead facilitator Cissy Rock says that during May and June, there will be a series of small activities and regular events held in Snells Beach.
“We’re hoping that some projects such as crop swaps, repair cafés, community meals and walking groups will come out of these discussions,” Rock says.
“We will be joining existing groups for conversations, as well as running a bulb planting workshop and the She Connects event, focused on laughter and connection for women.”
The sessions will be held weekly, and both the location and times will be published at the Mahurangi East Library or online at www.rodneycommunity.org.nz
