The Matakana Volunteer Fire Brigade gathered on Saturday, October 11 to celebrate its annual honours night – an event that recognises the dedication and commitment of its members who serve the community with courage and care.

The evening was hosted by Source Kitchen at The Pavilion, Matakana, who provided the venue and catering.

Organisers said the event was a warm reminder of the strong community spirit that defined Matakana and a heartfelt celebration of the volunteers who kept it safe.

This year’s award recipients and years of service: Barry Clark (52); Brian Molloy (7); Chris Jensen (11); Lisa Donaldson (5); Maz Moore (5); Robyn Peach (5); Chris Casanelia (3); and Rocky Paice (7).

“Photographer Kate Little captured the event beautifully while Sawmill Beer and Matakana Liquor kept glasses full throughout the night,” the organisers said.

“Special thanks also go to Matakana Palms for their stunning plant hire, ECM Signage for the event signs, Carlton Party Hire for furniture, and Pak’nSave Warkworth for their generous prize donations.”
