Former Whangaparāoa College Head Boy and local Bunker Boxing Gym member Noah Collier is participating in the World Boxing U19 Championships in Montenegro, October 11-29.
The 18-year-old became back-to-back NZ Youth 70kg Champion last month. Noah has had a successful year internationally, winning the Queensland International Golden Gloves in Brisbane in August and a silver medal at the Oceania Championships in Samoa last month.
As a first-year law student, Noah balances his studies with training and international competition. Bunker Boxing Gym head coach Nik Charalampous says Noah and the gym are grateful for the ongoing support of the community, local businesses and sponsors who help make opportunities like these possible.
“We’re proud to see one of our local young athletes representing NZ on the world stage,” he says. From left, head coach Nik Charalampous and Noah Collier.
