A draft review of parking in Warkworth that recommends the introduction of charges instead of time limits came under fire at a Rodney Local Board workshop on October 11.
Auckland Transport (AT) presented a 31-page document looking at town centre parking, including an occupancy survey that it said proved the need for a gradual change to “demand-responsive paid parking”.
AT parking designer David Martin told members the town centre was very busy, many drivers were parking for longer than posted time limits and One Mahurangi Business Association supported paid parking as a solution.
