Dig in at cement works

A volunteer planting session will be held at the old cement works in Wilson Road, Warkworth on Sunday, August 29.

The Mahurangi Riverbank Restoration Trust has donated plants to help the Cement Works Warkworth Trust to beautify the area around the industrial heritage site and volunteers are needed to help plant from 9am to midday.

The event is the latest in a series of efforts by the recently-formed trust to preserve the cement works ruins and make them more accessible to visitors.
