The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking applicants for a scholarship programme helping to boost on-the-ground support for farmers and growers.

“Six scholarships, worth $5000 each or a total of $30,000, are on offer for the 2027 academic year,” MPI’s director of On Farm Support Chad Hoggard says.

“Applicants must have completed, or be completing, their first year of study and be enrolled in relevant agriculture, horticulture, science, forestry, or viticulture degrees.

Applications for the scholarships close at 5pm on September 28, 2026.
