The Rodney Local Board was provided with an update on its footpath projects, which are being funded by the Transport Targeted Rate.
The 10-year rate is expected to raised just over $46 million. Of that, just over half ($24 million) will be spent on footpaths.
A total of 35 footpath projects are scheduled for work. Four, including Omaha Drive and Hudson Road, have been completed, five have been removed for various reasons including cost escalation and technical and design issues, and the remaining 26 projects are progressing through the investigation and design phases. Only one of the removed projects is in the Mahurangi area – Falls Road in Warkworth was removed as the adjacent developer is required to complete the full length of footpath under its resource consent.
